On Saturday 17 May, Rome stays lit up late with the 15th edition of the Night of Museums 2025, more than 60 open spaces and 100 shows of all kinds in the Civic Museums of Roma Capitale and in many other cultural spaces of the city
Concerts, shows, screenings, exhibitions and many other activities. From 8.00 p.m. on Saturday to 2.00 a.m. on Sunday, the Civic Museums of Roma Capitale and many other cultural venues in Rome will be extraordinarily open to the public in the evening hours at the symbolic cost of €1 (except where otherwise indicated) for an evening of art and entertainment, in conjunction with the Nuit Européenne Des Musées, the customary springtime celebration of the encounter between the arts.
The Civic Museums of Roma Capitale will host a wide-ranging programme: from theatre acts to film screenings set to live music, from video art to performances, from readings to many musical interventions of different genres, for a long and articulated journey with tributes to great personalities of the past and influences from every era and part of the world.
Special guest will be the Spanish dancer Sergio Bernal, an artist of international renown, who will offer the public of the Ara Pacis Museum the performance Pax, an evening of dance and song for peace performed in front of the monument in honour of the pax augustea. His unmistakable style, an extraordinary mix of flamenco and classical ballet, will be expressed through a solo inspired by Auguste Rodin's The Thinker, an emblematic figure representing the depth of human thought that becomes a choreographic gesture of reflection and hope. Next to him, the Andalusian singer Paz de Manuel, whose flamenco voice will help shape the individual inner harmony towards which the performance aims to lead the audience.
With a strong message of peace, will be the videomapping performance No Borders, realised by the FLxER collective with original music by Agostino Maria Ticino (starting at 8.30 p.m. and ending at 1 a.m.), on the façade of the Casina del Salvi in the Archaeological Park of the Caelian Hill.
The opening moment will be entrusted to the Banda musicale del Corpo di Polizia Locale di Roma Capitale. Its orchestra of 80 wind instruments will symbolically open the Notte dei Musei 2025 by welcoming visitors in Piazza del Campidoglio from 7.30 p.m. onwards.
