Established as a vice-curia on 7 December 1956, declared dependent on the Parish of St. Andrew the Apostle and entrusted to the priests of the Society of Divine Vocations (Vocationists), it was erected as a parish on 5 December 1962, with the Decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Mirabili sollicitudine.
The new church was inaugurated by Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini on 20 September 1992.
The territory was determined within the following boundaries:
Fosso del Fontaniletto, from its confluence with the Fosso della Volusia as far as Via di Grottarossa - follow said Via as far as Via della Crescenza, walking along it as far as the edge of the plateau, which you follow to the right as far as Via dell'Inviolatella - from here follow the Fosso that separates the Gianni and Bulgarini properties, as far as Via Celleno - said Via as far as Via Lucio Cassio, which you follow as far as Via Cassia - Via Cassia as far as no. 972 (leaving the parish of S. Andrea on both sides of Via Cassia and Via L. Cassio, from n. 23 excluded, in the vicinity of Via Calcata) - from here we reach the Fosso which runs parallel to Via Bracciano, following it for 600 metres - then we cut left across the fields until we reach the Fosso della Volusia (so that all the houses on Via Bracciano remain excluded) - we follow the Fosso della Volusia to the right until the Fosso del Fontaniletto mentioned above.
Recognition for civil effects of the vicariate measure was decreed on 2 July 1963.
The real estate is owned by the Pontifical Work for the Preservation of the Faith and the Provision of New Churches in Rome.
The project is by Arch. Roberto Panella.
