Chiesa di Sant'Eligio

The parish was erected on 25 June 1963 by decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Succrescente in dies and entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome. From 1968 until 2007, the Rev. Monsignor Rino Cunial was the parish priest. The territory, by decree of Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini of 27 February 1995, was determined within the following new boundaries: Via Prenestina - Fosso dell'Osa, up to the intersection with Via Carpinone - Via Carpinone - Fosso di Montegiardino for a short stretch - Ideal line tangent to the built-up area of Montegiardino until it intersects the Fosso dei Ponzoni at the end of the ideal line coming from the end of Via della Riserva Nuova - Via della Riserva Nuova until it intersects Via Prenestina.The property complex is owned by the Pont. Opera per la Preservazione della Fede e la Provision di nuove Chiese in Roma. The architectural project is by Aldo Aloysi, and was realised on 18 June 1967. The Parish Priest pro tempore from 1 September 2020 is the Rev. Father Dario Frattini, former member of the Congregation of Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception.
