The vicarage was established by decree of Cardinal Vicar Angelo Dell'Acqua on 25 January 1971. Erected as a parish on 2 June 1971 by the decree Quotidianis curis of the same Cardinal Vicar, it was entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome. Its territory, taken from the parishes of S. Giovanni Battista de Rossi, of the Most Holy Name of Mary and, mainly, from that of the Nativity of Our Lord, by vicarial decree of 1 October 1984 it was determined within the following new boundaries: Rome-Pisa railway from Ponte Latino - Via Appia Antica as far as Porta S. Sebastiano - Viale delle Mura Latine - Viale Metronio corner Via Vetulonia - Via Vetulonia - Via Populonia - Via Satrico (even numbers as far as Piazza Zama) - Piazza Zama - Via Vescia (along the railway) as far as the Rome-Pisa railway bridge on Via Latina.Recognition for civil effects was decreed on 22 August 1972.
