It was built to a design by architect Saverio Muratori: work began in 1961, but was later interrupted and resumed in 1971. The church was not completed and what can be seen today is only the crypt of the original design; it was erected as a parish seat on 21 April 1964 by decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Cum in suburbana and entrusted first to the clergy of the diocese of Rome and then to the priests of the Congregation of St John the Baptist Precursor. Until the construction of the present church, the parish had its seat in the Divine Love Church in Via Viviani.A long ramp leads to the entrance of the church, which is located several metres below the level of the street above. The interior is rather dark and gloomy; a wrought-iron chandelier hangs from a skylight in the centre of the ceiling, a lowered concrete dome. In the presbytery, behind the altar, there is a large wooden crucifix, fixed, on a rock, behind which is the pipe organ; the latter was built in 1999 by the firm Organaria Romana (opera I), has 6 registers and is connected by an electronic organ, which is its console.
