Guglielmo Marconi. Vedere l’invisibile

Guglielmo Marconi. Vedere l’invisibile

The VIVE Institute - in the spaces of the Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia - hosts an exhibition dedicated to the brilliant Bolognese inventor, whose revolutionary discoveries profoundly marked the course of history and communications.

The exhibition path winds through eight sections with different media and languages to accompany the public in an engaging journey through the story of the entrepreneur, inventor, public and private man, representing an extraordinary witness to the legacy left by one of Italy's greatest innovators.

On display are documents, photographs, period films, objects and interactive and multimedia installations from 34 prestigious national and international archives - including the Bodleian Libraries in Oxford, the MAECI, the Museo Storico della Comunicazione in Rome, the Accademia dei Lincei, the Italian Navy, the Italian Army and the Italian Air Force - celebrating and describing the father of radio and wireless, Nobel Prize in Physics, sea lover, curious and visionary scientist, whose wireless telegraph was crucial to the rescue of 705 people on board the Titanic.

Promoted by the Ministry of Culture and organised and produced by Cinecittà and Archivio Luce, Guglielmo Marconi. Vedere l’invisibile is realised with the patronage and contribution of the Marconi.150 National Committee and with the collaboration of the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation. Sponsors of the exhibition are ENEL, Fincantieri and Terna, with the support of the Leonardo Foundation, which has contributed with the documentary ‘Elettra, la nave laboratorio di Marconi’, and with the development of multimedia content also realised thanks to artificial intelligence systems.
