A few steps away from Piazza del Popolo, Explora is the permanent centre dedicated to children from 0 to 11 years old in the heart of Rome. Active since 2001, for more than 20 years, it is the reference point for informal education and creative activities for families, schools and the world of childhood.
A space where exploration and play are transformed into an experience of growth and sharing: with its 2,000 square metres of interactive installations dedicated to Science, New Technologies, Environmental Sustainability, Gender Equality, Art and Research, the Museum offers a unique and innovative opportunity that encourages curiosity, motivation and discovery.
A visit to the Museum is designed to respect each child's learning time, as it is based on the model of international didactic museums where the youngest children can observe, touch, discover, in full autonomy.
On the ground floor are the permanent installations that, through sensorial and emotional experiences, convey scientific concepts in a playful way: such as the Market, to learn how to shop in a sustainable way, the digital installation A sea of creativity to express one's imagination, and also the Team Game on the Circular Economy, the vegetable garden and the Explora18 space made up of 5 installations on colour, architecture and history, Missione Me, the area dedicated to the human body and How Many Months, dedicated to the reproduction of viviparous, oviparous and ovoviviparous animals.
On the first floor is the section dedicated to PARI, the game path consisting of 11 interactive displays to reflect on and explore Equal Opportunities and Economiamo: earn and save, donate and invest, the economy has never been so much fun!, the game path on economic education with 10 interactive stations.
Small Explorations is also a small space designed for children 0/3 years old with games suitable for this particular age group, respecting their development and needs.
Explora offers regular activities and special events and has a bookshop, a restaurant, a cafeteria and an equipped green area.
