Inlingua, a transcultural festival of music, dance, and graphic arts

From September 11 to 27, 2026, the third edition of Inlingua, the free-entry transcultural festival taking place between the Laurentina Library and the Tevere Marconi Park, returns to Rome, featuring a variety of artistic and cultural languages.

The rich program, dedicated to the cultures of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, encompasses music, dance, and graphic arts. It includes concerts, performances, workshops, and radio programs, engaging citizens in an exchange of languages, traditions, and identities.

The 2026 edition involves artists from Italy, Albania, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, Morocco, and Tunisia. Promoted by Pontedincontro APS and realized with the support of Cultural Pro ETS, the project unfolds in two neighborhoods that share histories of emigration and immigration, characterized by a plurality of languages ​​and diverse geographies. The title LaMar recalls the Mediterranean Sea, understood as a space of crossing, encounter, and connection: a sea that, for centuries, has connected territories, people, cultures, and memories.

Workshops dedicated to creativity, participation, and experimentation are taking place at the Laurentina Library. On September 15th and 16th, Egyptian rapper Amir Issaa presents activities dedicated to writing, speech, and music, while Ape Radio offers radio and digital storytelling workshops for children and teens. On September 19th, 23rd, and 24th, Amjed Rifaie guides the public through the discovery of Arabic calligraphy, combining traditional forms with contemporary experimentation.

Tevere Marconi Park hosts concerts, performances, and activities dedicated to music and dance, beginning on September 11th with Mauro Tiberi, the protagonist of a journey through shamanic drums and ritual percussion, including a duo with guitarist Max Trani. On September 12th, Ziad Trabelsi, a Tunisian musician and composer, presents a project that intertwines the musical traditions of the Maghreb with contemporary research. On September 13th, Nensi Bego, along with Ashraf Said on percussion, presents the somatic dance workshop "Attraversare il Cerchio." Also on the 13th, the Club Soma project, featuring DJ Koba and DJ Kapitano, showcases the sounds and syncopated rhythms of European, Asian, and African popular culture. On September 17th, Egyptian rapper Amir Issaa leads activities dedicated to writing, speech, and music, while Ape Radio offers radio and digital storytelling workshops for children and young people. On September 18th, Albanian groups Pëllumb Meta and Altin Nuka will perform a repertoire dedicated to Albanian folk music and its traditional instruments. On September 19th, dancer Adel Afifi will present a Palestinian dabke (traditional Middle Eastern dance) workshop, while Nensimilia will present Âhenk, a new musical performance constructed from a selection of pieces spanning the different shores of the Mediterranean. On September 20th, Black Koyo, a Gnawa group based in Brussels but deeply rooted in Moroccan musical traditions, will perform a dance and music workshop followed by a live concert. The program continues on September 25th with Pejman Tadayon, together with the Persian Orchestra and the Persepolis Choir. On September 26th, OMAR – Orchestra Multietnica Arcobaleno Roma will take center stage. On September 27th, Samah Boulmona will perform with the Nass El Kif Choir workshop. Closing the festival, TILT, a Lebanese trio made up of Samah Boulmona, Farah Kaddour and Ali Hout, will perform live from Beirut, bringing their musical project to the stage.

The project, promoted by Rome Capital – Department of Culture, is the winner of the public tender “Creative Rome 365. Culture all year round”, in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura.
