Now in its 25th edition and curated this year by Silvia Barbagallo and Anna Voltaggio, LETTERATURE Festival Internazionale di Roma is a historic Roman event showcasing the most important contemporary literary voices. The theme for the 2026 edition is “Sconfinare” (Crossing Boundaries), exploring the limits imposed by the body, by social roles, and by language. The evenings of 19, 20 and 21 June will take place in the majestic setting of the Palatino Stadium, within the Colosseum Archaeological Park.
“Those who write the world. Women and power dynamics” is the sub-theme of the opening night on 19 June. The evening will open with a new work by the journalist and writer Concita De Gregorio, a long-standing contributor to “La Repubblica”, followed by the American writer Rachel Kushner, in conversation with Marino Sinibaldi, and by Patrizia Valduga, a distinguished translator of the works of Donne, Mallarmé, Shakespeare, Valéry, Pound and Sade, and the author of numerous collections of poetry. The evening will continue with an unpublished work by the French writer, literary critic and translator Neige Sinno, in conversation with the writer Rosella Postorino. For the first time in its history, the festival will feature a live drawing by the award-winning cartoonist and activist Fumettibrutti.
Marino Sinibaldi will guide the audience through the two-hour literary event, weaving together the narrative thread that links the guests and the chosen themes. The readings will be performed by Elettra Mallaby, Simonetta Solder and Lucia Mascino. The musical interlude will be performed by singer-songwriter Chiara Civello.
