Singer-songwriter, musician, author and film director, as well as the father of two children, Luciano Ligabue is widely regarded as one of the most authentic and influential figures in contemporary Italian rock music.

Born in Correggio in 1960, he took his first steps into the world of music through his experience with local radio stations in the Emilia region, where he developed a passion that would eventually evolve into an extraordinary artistic career. During the second half of the 1980s, he joined Orazero, his first significant musical project. By his side from the very beginning was Claudio Maioli, his companion during the local radio years and future manager, who also organised the band's first concert.

After years of performing at local festivals and events, Ligabue received his first major recognition in 1988, when he won the Terremoto Rock music competition. As a prize, he was awarded the release of a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl single. The record featured two songs that would later become iconic: Anime in Plexiglass and Bar Mario, early signs of a talent destined to leave a lasting mark on Italian music.

The decisive breakthrough came in 1990 with the release of his debut album, Ligabue, recorded alongside a new band that would become known as ClanDestino. Driven by the success of the hit single Balliamo Sul Mondo, the album won over both audiences and critics, becoming one of the most significant debuts in Italian music history and earning Ligabue recognition as Best New Artist of the Year.

From his very first releases, Ligabue distinguished himself through a unique and instantly recognisable style, blending the power of rock music with the sensitivity of storytelling.
