One of the most eagerly awaited and historic musical events of the Roman autumn. The Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the Casa del Jazz, and the Club Monk are hosting the 49th edition of the festival dedicated to jazz music and its many facets and variations.
Founded in 1976, the festival has seen all the greatest Italian and international performers take to the stage during its long and exciting history, seeking to satisfy different audiences and represent the various “souls” that have gradually enriched a language capable of breaking down barriers, cultural affiliations, social differences, and geographical boundaries. Compared to the past, the contemporary jazz scene has further expanded and diversified, welcoming influences from jazz-rap, nu jazz, post-bop, jazztronics, and new soul, and bringing themes such as peace, gender equality, civil rights, and inclusivity back to the center of its values through rhythm, melody, and harmony.
As in past editions, the festival program draws on the creativity of historic figures in jazz as well as new urban sounds, young performers, and new orchestral productions presented in preview. The 2025 edition pays special tribute to John Coltrane and his masterpiece “A Love Supreme”, released sixty years ago, a work that profoundly marked the history of jazz, spirituality, and thought in the twentieth century.
