The parish was erected on 2 May 1962 by decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Ludis olimpicis solemniter and entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome. The church was dedicated by Cardinal Vicar Ugo Poletti on 23 November 1986. The entire parish complex was inaugurated on 11 November 1987. The territory, taken from that of the parish of St.. Croce a via Flaminia, has been determined within the following boundaries: Viale Tiziano from Piazzale Manila to Piazza Cardinal Consalvi, which one crosses to reach the river Tiber one goes up the course of the Tiber to the beginning of Villa Glori, whose boundary is reached by crossing the Lungotevere dell'Acqua Acetosa - one follows the boundary of said Villa (which passes to the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) to Viale Maresciallo Pilsudski - one follows said Viale to the aforementioned Piazzale Manila. The property belongs to the Pontifical Work for the Preservation of the Faith and the Provision of New Churches in Rome.
