The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma presents the second triptych of the season, featuring some of the most prestigious names on the contemporary choreographic scene.
On the programme are three highly successful titles:
- Cacti - the iconic piece by Alexander Ekman, a lively parody of excesses in contemporary dance - to the music of Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert, arranged and orchestrated by Andy Stein - created in 2010 and revived by Ève-Marie Dalcourt;
- Subject to Change, an exciting 2003 creation by the duo Paul Lightfoot and Sol León - performed by six dancers to the notes of Der Tod und das Mädchen, String Quartet No. 14 in D minor D 810, second movement Andante con moto by Franz Schubert - with the arrangement by Gustav Mahler;
- Four Last Songs by British choreographer David Dawson, a journey through the nuances of life, love and death to the music of Richard Strauss, with Christiane Marchant and Rebecca Gladstone as répétiteurs.
On stage are dancers such as Alessandra Amato, Rebecca Bianchi, Susanna Salvi, Federica Maine, Alessio Rezza, Claudio Cocino and Michele Satriano, accompanied by the Corps de Ballet and the Orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, conducted by Thomas Herzog.
