23 November sees the inauguration of ‘Osa-Gabii and San Vittorino’, two of the ‘Unexpected Itineraries of Rome’, created for the enhancement, fruition, communication and promotion of itineraries outside the traditional tourist routes. The areas concerned, which also include this first itinerary, are characterised by elements of great natural and scenic importance, by archaeological sites and remains of great historical, cultural and artistic interest. Places of beauty unique in the world, but often their history is little known even by the Roman citizens who experience them on a daily basis.
The Osa-Gabii and San Vittorino itineraries are located in one of the most beautiful and interesting areas of the extreme territory of Municipality VI, on the eastern side of the great plain surrounding Rome, known as the ‘Agro Romano Antico’, a triangle of territory with a strong presence of naturalistic and historical-archaeological resources, delimited by three important consular roads (Tiburtina, Prenestina and Casilina/Labicana).
The day will include stops at points of interest with actors who will narrate the historical testimonies along the route and indicated by the information panels and the App.

PROGRAMME of 23 November 2024
At 11.30 a.m.: Inauguration of the itinerary (Via Prenestina Vecchia Angolo Via Mogliano) with unveiling of the map and presentation of the Unexpexted.itRome app
From 11.30 a.m. to 12 noon: Walk along Via Prenestina Vecchia with stops at points of interest with actors narrating the historical testimonies along the route and indicated by information panels and the App
From 12 noon to 1 p.m.: Guided visits to the Gabii Archaeological Park and theatrical performance under the Temple of Juno Gabina
At 2 p.m.: End of last visit
A repetition of the programme is scheduled every 20 minutes.
Starting at 11.00 a.m. from Campo Volo Roma Fly, a shuttle service will take visitors to the beginning of the itinerary on the Prenestina Vecchia to San Vittorino for the visit of the Borgo.
The Gabii Archaeological Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for accompanied tours and theatrical performances.

Also as part of the ‘Unexpected Itineraries of Rome’ project, after the day of 23 November, a calendar of extraordinary openings is planned in collaboration with the Gabii Archaeological Park.
From 29 November 2024 to 6 January 2025, as part of the Unexpected Itineraries of Rome, a series of extraordinary openings of the archaeological park of Gabii, which can already be booked by calling 060608 are planned.
The visits will take place from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and will observe the following schedule: 29 November, 1 December, 6 December, 8 December, 13 December, 15 December, 20 December, 22 December, 27 December, 29 December, 5 January, 6 January.
