Loreena McKennitt's Mask and Mirror 30th Anniversary Tour arrives at the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the release of the album The Mask and Mirror. The concert of the great Canadian artist of Irish and Scottish origins, is part of Rock in Roma 2024, one of the major international rock festivals.
Published in 1994, The Mask and Mirror - the singer's fifth album - draws inspiration from the world of the 15th century, the world of the Crusades and the Knights Templar, of pilgrimages and the Cathar heresy, of Christianity and Islam. In fact, the album, much appreciated and praised by critics for its intercultural contamination of Celtic, Spanish and Moroccan influences, is undoubtedly one of McKennitt's most beloved works, as well as considered fundamental by her for her artistic career.
Recognized as an icon of Celtic music, having performed traditional songs such as Blacksmith and She Moved Through The Fair among others, Loreena McKennitt has sold more than 14 million copies over the course of her career. Among the singer's most famous albums we also remember: The Visit (1991); The Book of Secrets (1997); Nights from the Alhambra (2007); The Road Back Home (2024).
