Choral Singing School

The concert with the students of the preparatory Choir of the Schola Chantorum and the Children's Choir of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is scheduled for the summer season at Caracalla’s Baths.

The School of Choral Singing of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, present since 1935, has the task of giving vocal and musical training to students between six and twenty-five years of age, through an experience of high artistic level with the aim of educating the melodic sensitivity and rhythmic skills of each participant. The students' path takes advantage of the support of assistants and accompanying pianists with a high level of specialization and experience in the educational-musical field for children. The students, admitted after annual auditions, are placed, based on their level of preparation, in four different groups: the Preparatory Choir, the Schola Cantorum, the Children's Choir and the Cantoria.

The school's students learn to sing in polyphony, in two, three and four voices, in a process of gradual difficulty and to test themselves with a repertoire that ranges from Renaissance to contemporary music.
