First in Europe in the category of hubs with over 40 million passengers: for the seventh consecutive year, Airport Council International (ACI) World (the international association that independently surveys passenger satisfaction at the world’s major airports) has awarded the Best Airport Award to Fiumicino Airport, which is thus confirmed as the continent’s best airport overall.
The “Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award” survey, which was conducted in cooperation with leading travel technology company Amadeus, analyzed the preferences of around six hundred thousand passengers at over 400 airports worldwide based on more than 30 indicators related to the airport experience. The result? In addition to the “Best Airport Award”, Leonardo da Vinci Airport was awarded in all categories considered: “Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe”, “Easiest Airport Journey in Europe”, “Most Enjoyable Airport in Europe”, and “Cleanest Airport in Europe”.
To date, Rome’s airport is the only airport in the world with more than 40 million passengers per year globally to have achieved levels of excellence in all categories considered by the ASQ Award. And this is not the only award given to the airport system managed by ADR. For the first time, Ciampino Giovan Battista Pastine Airport took home the award for “best airport in Europe with between 5 and 15 million passengers”.
