ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships - Rome 2024

Rome has confirmed its role as the protagonist of major sporting events, hosting at Fiera Roma the unmissable appointment dedicated to one of the world's most popular sports organised by the Italian Table Tennis Federation, under the aegis of the International Table Tennis Federation.

Eight days for the largest table tennis gathering ever: competing 6,200 athletes aged over 40 from 110 countries from five continents, with 30% participation of women, more than 2,500 officials and staff members, for an event that, besides being a unique opportunity to admire the beauties of the Eternal City, celebrates the passion and competition for a sport that can be played at any level, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

Hosted in Italy for the second time, after the 1986 edition in Rimini, the ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships see 350 tables and 11 age categories on stage, competing in Men and Women's Singles and Doubles and, for the first time, in Mixed Doubles, to challenge for the medals up for grabs. Also attending is Petra Sörling, President of the International Table Tennis Federation and IOC member, participating as an athlete.

The event is among the most inclusive ever, with the presence of athletes with disabilities - new in the World Masters  Championships - who have the opportunity to compete both in the Paralympic categories and their age tournaments.

The ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships Rome 2024 are realised under the patronage of the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Health, Lazio Region, the Municipality of Roma Capitale, Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale, Rome and Lazio Chamber of Commerce, CONI and CIP (Italian Paralympic Committee).

From 6 to 14 July, participants/registered competitors and one of their accompanying persons will have free admission to the Museums of Roma Capitale.
They will have to go to the ticket office showing the badge provided by the federation in order to collect the free admission ticket for themselves and one of their companions; the separate exhibition spaces - Mostra Teatro, Forum Pass Super, guided tour of the Bunker of Villa Torlonia, special events such as Circus Maximo Experience, Journeys through Ancient Rome – Foro di Cesare and Planetarium - do not participate in the initiative.
