The Vaccheria, a successful year since its opening

depuis 24 Décembre 2023 à 31 Mars 2024

The extraordinary exhibition space managed by the city’s 9th Municipality and dedicated to art and culture celebrated its first year of life with a more than positive balance of results. Situated among the wide avenues and monumental architecture of the EUR district, a short distance from Fuksas’ visionary Nuvola, the historic mansion sold to Roma Capitale and undergoing extensive restoration and renovation work before its opening in 2022 is increasingly transforming itself into into a lively and dynamic cultural hub, a place where the most diverse artistic languages meet and where it is possible to entertain oneself in the reading rooms and coworking areas.

In its first year of activity, La Vaccheria has in fact opened up to photography and comics, and hosted the second edition of “9daleggere”, the IX Municipio Festival of Reading and Literature. It has welcomed major exhibitions with free admission, such as “Dal Futurismo all’arte virtuale - From Futurism to Virtual Art”, which until 31 March 2024 offers its visitors the chance to admire up close – in a dreamlike setting punctuated by contemporary installations of immersive and digital art – some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, from Balla to Calder, from Modigliani to Duchamp, Dali, Manzoni, Fontana and many others, all of whom share the ability to innovate and anticipate the future.

To celebrate the arrival of the new year, it finally devotes a new page to the art of comics with a double exhibition: “L’arte nei fumetti di Massimo Fecchi” with about 100 plates created by this world-renowned and appreciated author (most of them for Disney but not only), and “Il cinema dipinto: l’arte nei manifesti di Rodolfo Valcarenghi” featuring some works by Rodolfo Valcarenghi, an important author of movie posters at the time they were painted, and a comic book inker who collaborated for a long time with di Massimo Fecchi.
