The “Stanza di Trilussa” at Museo di Roma in Trastevere

depuis 14 Décembre 2023 à 31 Mars 2024

Museo di Roma in Trastevere re-opens to visitors the multimedia environment dedicated to Carlo Alberto Salustri, a.k.a. Trilussa, the great dialect poet who recounted Rome at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with wit and humanity.

The installation, commissioned in 2000 and set up in the museum in 2002, was reactivated thanks to a grant from the Lazio Region. Realized by Studio Azzurro art collective, Trilussa’s Room shows the figure of the poet in his complexity as a public and private man, with the friends and women who surrounded him.

Inside the room are placed objects and furnishings from Trilussa’s home-studio that evoke his everyday life. Moving images complement the narrative of the objects with photographs, letters, postcards, newspapers, drawings and films tracing the poet’s career. archival videos show Anna Magnani reciting some of his poems. In this manner, direct accounts of Trilussa’s private and public life take shape, one after the other, allowing the visitor to understand his poetry.
