A Summer season full of fights to and from Fiumicino airport

depuis 10 Mai 2023 à 30 Septembre 2023

Leonardo da Vinci Airport’s “Summer 2023” kicks off with many novelties at the international level, including necessary confirmations and attractive prospects mainly involving North America and Asia, but not only.

More than 70 countries will be served, with the involvement of over 100 airlines that will connect all the world’s continents to the Capital. Of the more than 35 new air connections activated, more than 10 are then to destinations never served before with direct flights. As for the Asian market, the main news concerns the reopening to international tourism of China, with direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Chongqing. Also worth mentioning is the increase in frequencies to Korea, Singapore, India and Japan. The simultaneous restoration of connectivity to strategic areas such as South America and the Middle East confirms a trend of progressive growth that reinforces Rome’s role as a strategic gateway to Italy.

The other big protagonist of next Summer for Rome’s airports will be the North American market with as many as 34 direct flights a day in the peak months. This year, Leonardo da Vinci will be third largest European hub after London and Paris for the number of flights to New York, and and among the airports with the highest growth in flights to North America, including Canada. Highlights include new connections to San Francisco by ITA Airways and United Airlines, flights to Mexico City thanks to the debut of Aeromexico, ITA Airways’ new direct flight to Washington, and increased frequencies by Air Canada and Air Transat to Toronto and Montreal.

Accompanying this growth scenario is the guarantee of compliance with the high-quality standards of passenger and airline reception, which has earned Rome’s airports numerous awards, including the 5 Skytrax Stars that put Leonardo da Vinci in the group of the 12 best airports in the world.
