Leonardo Da Vinci Airport is confirmed as a strategic hub for intercontinental connections thanks to the new non-stop flights between Rome and New Delhi by ITA Airways.
The new route, inaugurated at the beginning of December, is operated three times a week with Airbus A330 and is currently the only direct connection between the two capitals. The departures from the Roman airport are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in the early afternoon, with arrival the following day at 2 AM local time. Departures from Indira Gandhi International Airport are planned on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night, with arrival in the morning having a whole day in the Eternal City.
The direct flight represents an opportunity to discover both countries' artistic and landscape heritage, also allowing Indian travellers to reach other Italian and European cities easily from Fiumicino airport.
