Envisioned by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan - NRP, “Mobility as A Service” is a new innovation-based mobility concept that aims to integrate different public and private transportation services, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of local and regional networks through data sharing and the creation of tailored services. Rome is one of the lead cities in testing the services of this European project, and the Lazio Regional Council has given its okay to the memorandum of understanding between the Region and Roma Capitale to collaborate on its implementation.
Citizens and users will have a single App that will support them in planning and paying for all trips. People will therefore be able to book buses, streetcars and trains, but also cabs, car and bike sharing, scooters, and other means of mobility, according to their actual needs, paying through a single account: a concrete help to reach one’s destination in a sustainable way and on time. The project adds a new piece to the Region’s digitization process aimed at increasing accessibility to services.
