The Capannelle Hippodrome is preparing to reopen for a major fall season: on Monday, September 1st, after a long summer break, the stalls will reopen to welcome thoroughbreds and offer spectators the unique thrills that the world of racing has to offer. This season, the calendar is particularly rich with major races, prestigious prizes, and unmissable shows that, for four intense months, will thrill horse racing enthusiasts.
As is now tradition, the autumn season at Capannelle includes major gallop races, prestigious trotting prizes, events of all kinds, weekly appointments, and exciting weekends: a world where, since 1881, sport, elegance, history, and entertainment have blended into a single experience.
On September 1st, the Roman venue reopens for a meeting featuring four highly interesting races on the large grass track, useful for identifying potential stars of the second half of the year, including both confirmed and unexpected contenders. First up are the two traditional SGA Asta Selezione 2025 Awards, for two-year-old colts and fillies, then comes the Senecio Award, over 2,000 meters on the large track, dedicated to three-year-old colts returning from the most important spring classics. And, last but not least, the Enable Award, for three-year-old fillies, also over 2,000 meters, with the undisputed star being Klaynn, the "divine," fresh from her stunning victory in the recent Regina Elena at the Capannelle Hippodrome and in the Italian Oaks. Trotting enthusiasts also have a packed program to enjoy, allowing them to experience the endless thrills of the Italian Trotting Derby and the Oaks, starting Saturday, September 20th, the day dedicated to the qualifiers that select the participants in the most anticipated event of the season.
As always, the Capannelle Hippodrome hosts not only the most important national horse racing events, but also a series of unmissable events for families, starting with the famous Millennium Expo, the oldest and most beloved exchange of vintage cars, motorcycles, and spare parts in Central and Southern Italy, scheduled for October 11th and 12th. The highly anticipated Japanese Market will take place on September 20th and 21st, October 18th and 19th, and November 15th and 16th, with a Christmas version on the weekends of September 13th and 14th, and December 21st and 21st.
