Recently appointed to represent the Belgian Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale, Miet Warlop makes her debut at the Romaeuropa Festival. The new production she is presenting at the Teatro Argentina draws inspiration from the movement of waves, a symbol of change and unpredictability, a metaphor for imagination and transformation.
Artist and choreographer Miet Warlop has gained international attention for her interdisciplinary performances that blend theater, dance, and visual arts, creating immersive and unexpected experiences. Her projects SPORTBAND and Springville have toured worldwide, and her visual artworks have been showcased in major institutions such as KW Institute (Berlin) and Palais de Tokyo (Paris).
Propelled by the music of DEEWEE and accompanied by a group of performers and 1,500 meters of silk fabric, Inhale, Delirium, Exhale Warlop seeks to give tangible form to the inner turbulence of the creative process—a wave rising and spilling into the space. It is a poetic, powerful but also ironic performance that immerses us in an enveloping and overwhelming visual universe, in that delirium that emerges between one breath and the next.
