Rome is increasingly the capital of tourism: 51.4 million presences and 22.2 million arrivals crown a record year. In 2024, in fact, Rome set its own historical record in tourism, which, compared to 2023, recorded +4.5% in presences and +5.63% in arrivals, as reported by the Ente Bilaterale del Turismo del Lazio (Latium Bilateral Tourism Board).
A new record that proves that the policy of major events, whether cultural, sporting, musical or fashionable, and the quality of the tourist offer of a city that is unique in the world in terms of history, culture and services, for all budgets and all ages, works and that every year attracts millions of tourists to the capital, who choose to visit it for the first time or return, even several times.
Moreover, this primacy is not only a reason to boast and the right recognition for the city and its millenary history, but a further incentive to improve and enhance Rome and make it ever more attractive and welcoming. For citizens, because tourism generates economic inducements and new jobs. For tourists and visitors because they can thus enjoy a total and unforgettable experience not only in the historic centre, but also in its many places and archaeological sites that, although still little known, are equally unmissable and precious.
