Walks towards Rome

The Jubilee Walks have always represented important spiritual paths, which pilgrims in the Middle Ages undertook with religious devotion; today, in the context of the Holy Year, in addition to the religious aspects, they can be considered true itineraries of slow tourism and rediscovery of the territory: it is in fact a unique opportunity to combine the passion for the walks with an experience of deep spiritual significance.

In particular, the Jubilee Walks allow contemporary travellers to get to know the Eternal City, with its sacred and monumental places, the villages of the province, together with the naturalistic and artistic riches that can be encountered along the route, each with its own peculiarities and charm.

Lately, the interest in the Walks has been constantly growing all over the world; in fact, in recent years, a new awareness and attention to sustainability have made them one of the most widespread forms of tourism. The Jubilee Walks allow you to travel along the stretches of the Via Francigena, the Via Francigena in the South and the St. Francis' Walk that lead to Rome, in a continuous discovery of nature, spirituality, history and encounters along the way. A way to get back in touch with yourself, through a slow way of traveling, with all the deep emotions that the latter brings with it.

The Jubilee Walks project is promoted by the Department of the Environment, with the organization of Zétema and in collaboration with Federtrek.
