If you wish to immerse yourself even more in the spirit of Christmas, strolling around Rome and entering its churches you can admire nativity scenes of all kinds, from the oldest to the most modern, from cork nativity scenes to those made of papier mache, wood or mother-of-pearl. It is precisely in Rome, in the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, that one of the oldest representations of the Nativity is preserved.
