Tennis and Friends 2024 - Sport e Salute

On Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, from 10 am to 6 pm Tennis & Friends returns to the Foro Italico in Rome - one of the most important events in the field of prevention - which links together health, sport, solidarity and entertainment, for a weekend entirely dedicated to correct lifestyles and early diagnosis of various pathologies, for all citizens and non-citizens.

The event presents an healthcare area with over 18,000 m2 of Villaggio della Salute (Health Village), with 22 different specialist areas, where a healthcare team of professionals from the A. Gemelli University Polyclinic Foundation carries out specialist visits free of charge with diagnostic tests. The village is set up right in the area adjacent to the famous tennis courts of the Foro Italico, where well-known personalities from the world of sport, entertainment, culture and entrepreneurship entertain the public with exciting tennis competitions. 

The project for this event, conceived by Prof. Giorgio Meneschincheri, has the advantage of combining entertainment and sport, in order to encourage people to do prevention, with the construction of a real family health village, dedicated both to adults and children.

Created for the first time in collaboration with the healthcare staff of the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic Foundation and CONI, Tennis & Friends has had as its purpose from the beginning the union between Health and Sport for the development of psychophysical well-being. 

Over the years, the event has gradually involved the major national institutions, which have contributed to the diffusion of the Culture of Prevention: Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Health, Ministry of University Education and Research, Navy, Air Force, State Police, Carabinieri Corps, Financial Police, Fire Brigade, Italian Red Cross.

Since 2018, the event has gone beyond the borders of our country, reaching other cities and giving life to the first Tour for Prevention. The Tour is sponsored, at a local level, by the Lazio Region and Rome Capital, the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples, the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin.

Over the course of these years, the best healthcare facilities in the host territories and the Italian Sports Federations have been involved, to once again underline the close connection between health and sport.
