The Teatro Sistina hosts the great Roman showman, inaugurating the 2024/2025 season by presenting the famous 1989 musical legend by Luigi Magni, set to music by Nicola Piovani.
Among the great classics of Garinei and Giovannini's tradition, I 7 re di Roma (The 7 Kings of Rome) features a version that, while respecting the previous one, adapts to contemporary tastes and trends between tradition and present day.
Brignano accompanies the audience on an irresistible journey through time amidst extraordinary costumes, songs, dances and well-known or unusual stories, in which the seven kings of the Eternal City take turns on the stage of the historic theatre. On stage, together with the artist, are Michele Gammino as Janus and a young and talented company performing in a narration showing how the human essence remains unchanged despite the passing of time, continuing to aspire, over the centuries, to the ideal of freedom that makes life meaningful.
Born in 1966, the actor, director and screenwriter graduated from Gigi Proietti's Scenic Exercises Laboratory and was one of the favourite students of the unforgettable performer, whom he joined in some theatrical successes such as A me gli occhi bis (1994 ), Per amore e per diletto (1995) and Mezzefigure (1996-97). The versatile showman achieved great public success in 1998 as the clumsy Giacinto with the Rai TV series Un medico in famiglia, the beginning of an unstoppable and extraordinary career.
