S.t.e.m. in a second: activities at the Civic Museum of Zoology

The Municipality of Rome II organizes new, interesting activities at the Civic Museum of Zoology, halfway between knowledge and science-themed game-adventure for children and teenagers.

Program:

Night at the museum: scientists of the night (age 9-12 years)

Dates: 7, 16 and 28 December from 9.30 pm

Number of participants: 60 kids per evening divided into 6 teams of 10

The activities include an exciting and engaging nocturnal adventure, an extraordinary journey between science and imagination, in which young participants take on the role of the most famous scientists of all time to solve a complicated mystery. During the night tour of the Museum, participants divided into teams, assisted by museum animators, following precise indications, will reach the set-up stations where they will have to collaborate with each other to pass skill tests, to solve puzzles and search for codes and clues, becoming true scientific investigators. All these clues will allow him to collect all the information necessary to solve the mystery that hides in the rooms of the Museum. After these activities the children will be able to spend the whole night in the Museum (from the Hall of Skeletons to the Hall of Birds) by placing themselves inside sleeping bags. In the morning, breakfast will be given in single-portion packs to the participants, and afterwards the museum educators will guide the teams on a visit to the Museum

General program:

- 9.30pm Museum conference room: welcome of children;

- from 10.00pm to 12.00am: gaming activities with museum tour and Zoolab;

- 24.00 – 00.30: preparation for the night;

- from 00.30 to 07.00 the following morning: rest;

- 07.00 – 07.45: awakening and breakfast;

• 07.45 – 08.30: guided tour and return of the children to their parents.

Dinner with scientists! (age 6-8 years)

Dates: 10, 15 and 22 December from 7.15 pm

The children who participate in this activity, assisted by the scientific animators of Myosotis, will test their skills in a scientific treasure hunt along the museum route. In fact, thanks to this game, through scientific experiments, movement games and group challenges, children will be able to experience some of the natural phenomena that occur every day. Between Newton and Galileo, Marie Curie and Rita Levi-Montalcini, participants will be able to build, invent and make hypotheses by immersing themselves in Science.

At the end of the activity in the Skeleton Room or the Whale Room, the children are given a dinner box to dine together. Meals are provided for particular needs (therapeutic, ethical, religious food).

- 7.15 pm: welcome of children;

- from 7.30pm to 9.00pm: gaming activities (museum tour and Zoolab);

- 9.00pm-10.00pm: dinner with packaged single-portion meals (Sala degli Skeletons or Sala della Balena);

- 10.00 pm: return of children to parents.
