The great ballet classic by Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij returns to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma in a version of great dramaturgical harmony signed by French choreographer Jean-Guillaume Bart.
Poetic, evocative and refined, Sleeping Beauty is the second of the Russian composer's ballets, on a libretto by Marius Petipa and Ivan Aleksandrovich Vsevolozskij, inspired by Charles Perrault's fairy tale of the same name.
Set against the backdrop of an enchanted kingdom, the tale on pointe par excellence tells the story of the princess Aurora who, the victim of the spell of the vengeful fairy Carabosse, falls into a deep sleep from which she will only awaken with the kiss of a prince.
On stage, with splendid costumes by Aldo Buti, is an extraordinary cast, including the eagerly awaited star of Dutch National Ballet, Maia Makhateli, the Korean Young Gyu Choi, making his debut at the Costanzi, the étoiles Alessandra Amato and Alessio Rezza, the Principal dancers Marianna Suriano and Claudio Cocino, the Soloists, the Corps de Ballet together with the Orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, conducted by Kevin Rhodes.
