The evening at the Palladium Theater with the Roma Tre Orchestra conducted by Sieva Borzak, presents the Violin Concert in B minor op.61 and the Overture op.19 "Froissart" by Edward Elgar (1857-1934), and has protagonist the internationally renowned New Zealand violinist Amalia Hall, for the first time in Rome.
Both late Romantic masterpieces by Elgar, the Violin Concert in B minor op.61 is one of the longest orchestral compositions by the great English musician and the last of his works to achieve immediate popular success; while the Overture op.19 "Froissart", is a concert overture inspired by the chronicles of the French historian Jean Froissart of the fourteenth century, recognized as the utmost expression of the chivalric renaissance.
