Six days dedicated to contemporary art, its trends and dynamics, with a varied program of events, open studios and cultural projects, all completely free of charge.
Now in its tenth edition and organised by Kou (a non-profit association for the promotion of visual arts), Rome Art Week is a widespread festival involving hundreds of venues from the city center to the suburbs. Its goal is to present enthusiasts, collectors and scholars with the latest developments in the art world and show new insights and perspectives.
Galleries, foundations, museums, cultural institutions and associations, academies, cultural institutes, hotels and multi-purpose spaces, in some cases open exceptionally, will offer exhibitions, talks, meetings, performances and in-depth discussions. Artists will organise open studios in their own workspaces to open up new perspectives on their artistic research. Curators will present their research through exhibition projects and cultural events. Collectives, promoted to encourage artists to come together, will foster the possible creation of new and emerging contemporary artistic trends.
To guide the public through the multitude of proposals, influential critics, curators, intellectuals and artists active in Rome have provided their own selection of artists and events. The Tours, thematic itineraries curated and led by the curators of the festival, will guide visitors through galleries, studios, and exhibition spaces with a personal, coherent, and engaging narrative.
