Since 2019 at the helm of the historic Ballet National de Marseille, founded in 1972 by Roland Petit, the collective (LA)HORDE lands for the first time at the Romaeuropa Festival to present at the Teatro Argentina Chronicles, with excerpts from two of its most significant works: Room With a View and Age of Content.
Founded in 2013, the collective composed of Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer, and Arthur Harel established itself as a leading innovator in contemporary dance mixing high-energy dance scenes and reflections on technology. Moving from raves to traditional dances, (LA)HORDE explores the political implications of dance and maps the forms of popular uprising choreography, examining new dynamics of dance and body representation developing online. The collective has created several multidisciplinary works through films, performances, and choreographies, and has collaborated with personalities such as Sam Smith and Madonna.
Created with French musician Rone in 2020, Room With a View is a powerful performance that confronts the decline of civilization with the energy of twenty-eight dancers of different nationalities, combining physicality, lyricism, and electronic sounds. Age of Content is a reflection on new media and their influence on the younger generations, which mixes dance and technology in an encounter between the virtual and the physical.
