One of Oscar Wilde's most brilliant comedies, and an undisputed masterpiece, is on stage at the Teatro Sala Umberto, directed by Geppy Gleijeses. Built on a perfect combination of misunderstandings, fictitious identities, and social satire, The Importance of Being Earnest retains its liveliness and subtle, sarcastic edge. Originally written in the autumn of 1894 in four acts in Worthing, it premiered on February 14, 1895, at the St James's Theatre in London, a version in three acts.
