The majestic Baths of Caracalla host the rebel genius of contemporary classical music, who returns to the capital with an eagerly awaited live performance as part of the Caracalla Festival 2025.
Included in the Musica dell'Anima tour, the Rome leg is the first of four concert events in which Giovanni Allevi performs in some of Italy's most evocative locations in Taormina, Venice and Florence.
The Maestro accompanies the audience on a musical journey that turns the ancient archaeological site into a backdrop of dreamlike and fantastic atmosphere with the use, for the first time, of immersive projections, light effects and multimedia settings: on stage together with his beloved piano and an orchestra, he performs the premiere of the moving and unreleased Concerto MM22 for Cello and Orchestra, composed on the letters of Myeloma during his hospital stay, as well as the best-known pieces from his repertoire.
A philosopher composer, pianist and conductor, Allevi made his recording debut in 1997 with the album 13 dita, which gave life to an extraordinary career with concerts on the world's most prestigious stages, gold and platinum records and numerous awards, including Bösendorfer Artist, Recanati Forever for music, Premio Carosone, Magna Grecia Awards, Giffoni Award and Elsa Morante Ragazzi. The much-loved musician, who returned to the stage in 2024 after a two-year absence, has also received the honour of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic since 2011 and, as the first non-Japanese, the title of ambassador of Japanese culture, given by the Prefecture of Kagoshima in 2021.
