The seventh edition of the International Exhibition 100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican, the exhibition that brings together works by artists from all over the world who have expressed their creativity in representing Nativity scenes, is back.
Hosted in the evocative space below Bernini's Colonnade, in St. Peter's Square, the exhibition brings together the numerous cribs, true works of art that, as per tradition, are executed with different techniques, styles and materials, from paper to fabric, from cork to wood, and mirror different cultures and traditions.
Each work is a small masterpiece created with passion and care, the fruit of the imagination and creativity of crib artists and craftsmen. The exhibitors also include amateurs, children, school children, national and international organisations and embassies.
In this important year for the entire Catholic Church, the Municipality of Rome has been invited for the traditional animation of the exhibition.
The event organised by the Dicastery for Evangelisation is rightfully part of the cultural initiatives ‘The Jubilee is Culture’, in preparation for the Jubilee 2025, especially this year that will see Pope Francis open the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica on Christmas Eve.
