Travel Literature Festival – XV edition

The appointment with the Travel Literature Festival is renewed, promoted since 2008 by the Italian Geographic Society and organized by the Travel Culture Association, with the artistic direction of the journalist and photographer Antonio Politano and with the support of Zètema Cultura project.

The event, now in its fifteenth edition, this year takes place at the Palazzetto Mattei and the Gardens of Villa Celimontana (in Via della Navicella 12) and includes forty events, divided into five days, dedicated to the story of the world, places and cultures nearby and distant through literature, journalism, photography, TV, theatre, music and comics. Born from an idea by Claudio Bocci, the Festival is a project promoted by Roma Capitale - Department of Culture and is the winner of the biennial Public Notice "Estate Romana 2023-2024", curated by the Cultural Activities Department and created in collaboration with LEA and SIAE.

The central theme of this XV edition Orients, orienting oneself, dis/orientating oneself, is dedicated to the East, which has always fascinated travelers and various authors whose anniversaries are being celebrated this year: Marco Polo, Joseph Conrad and Tiziano Terzani.

In the exhibition in fact, Asia, or rather more than an Asia, is spoken of in multiple ways, ranging from the adventures imagined by Salgari or designed by Pratt, up to the contemporary reality of many changing countries, without forgetting the journeys towards other directions, paths and routes.
