Against the backdrop of the splendid setting of the Baths of Caracalla, the unmissable appointment that, in a sparkling fusion of dance, fashion and music, inaugurates the ballet programme of the Caracalla Festival 2024, the summer season of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
Le notti romane di Dior (Dior's Roman Nights) is a true hymn to the beauty of the art of ballet and the sumptuous creations of Maria Grazia Chiuri of the Maison Dior, designed for the enchanting protagonist Eleonora Abbagnato and the étoiles, principal dancers, soloists and corps de ballet of the historical Roman theatre.
On stage, two different, extraordinary ballets: Nuit Romaine, with choreography by Angelin Preljocaj, in which the famous étoile, in the role of the night goddess Nox, and the Opera's amazing artists dance to melodies from the classical repertoire and modern pieces, ranging from Vivaldi, Rossini and Schubert to Daft Punk. Presented for the first time in Italy, Giorgio Mancini's Nuit Dansée features the stars and talents of the corps de ballet - including the étoile Rebecca Bianchi and principal dancer Michele Satriano - dancing to the splendid music of Philip Glass, performed live.
