A widespread international festival of contemporary dance and culture - Palazzo Merulana, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Teatro Brancaccino, Teatro Brancaccio - presenting a programme dedicated to the promotion of dance as an interdisciplinary and experimental artistic trend.
Born from an idea of Alessandro Longobardi and with the artistic direction of Alessia Gatta, Futuro Festival is a container of multiple and transversal experiences created to generate a beauty capable of vivifying spirits, a gift that art is capable of giving.
Futuro Festival is an intense ten days with the staging of performances that reflect the variety of stimuli proposed by great names on the international scene but also by young creative proposals: ideas of gesture, scenic actions, urban contaminations, journeys in a memory of traditions and folklore nourish diversified poetics but in strong mutual connection.
A melting pot of cultures, a crossroads of outlooks, a collector of heterogeneous styles, a place of contamination between different languages, between past and present, with an eye to the future.
A festival under the banner of multidisciplinarity: contemporary dance, urban dances, contaminations, workshops, a debate, live music, visual art, performances, an exhibition, a battle and various festive occasions.
Futuro Festival is conceived as a festival dedicated to those who live for dance, to enthusiasts, the curious and to new generations of spectators and artists. The programme includes extra activities: theoretical and practical workshops, a talk, an exhibition, a participatory artwork, a battle, a jam and party with live music, an urban incursion, and a performance.
The programme may be subject to change
