The Romanian jazz pianist Ramona Horvath and the French double bass player Nicolas Rageau present the concert Impressions of travel at the Casa del Jazz, which is inspired by the suite "Impressions from childhood" by the Romanian composer George Enescu and is based on the compositions of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
The concert therefore reflects both the influence of classical music and the imprint of jazz music that characterize the style of the two artists. The duo's latest album, entitled "Le Sucrier Velours", is a very rare project in jazz, in which the two musicians, both as soloists and as accompanists, investigate new sounds and new repertoires. Above all Ramona Horvath, having a solid classical education and a deep knowledge of jazz music gained over the years with the great pianist Jancy Korossy, manages to give us back a musical fresco that is truly out of the ordinary.
