The 13th edition of the Corsa del Ricordo (Race of Remembrance) is scheduled for Sunday, 8 February 2026, taking place along its traditional route in the heart of the Giuliano-Dalmata district, passing through the Città Militare of the Cecchignola.
Through sport, the race shines a light on the themes linked to the tragedy of the foibe and the post-war exodus of Italian communities from Fiume, Istria and Dalmatia. It forms part of the programme of events held for the Giorno del Ricordo (Day of Remembrance), established in 2004 by the Italian Government.
As tradition dictates, the Corsa del Ricordo will once again take place on its well-established and competitive course winding through the heart of the Giuliano-Dalmata neighbourhood and crossing the Cecchignola Military City. The race will start and finish on Viale Oscar Sinigaglia, where the stele dedicated to the 300,000 exiles stands. The starting gun is set for 9.00 am.
The well-established race format includes a 10-kilometre competitive race, a 3-kilometre non-competitive run, and the 9th Tokyo 1964 Trophy, a race-walking event dedicated to Abdon Pamich. Born in Fiume and himself an exile, Pamich won Olympic gold in Tokyo in 1964 and bronze in Rome in 1960.
The programme may be subject to change.
