Now in its sixth edition, the Italian Tourism Awards is an award created by Deborah Garlando, CEO of MHR - Media Hotel Radio, the only web radio dedicated to the world of tourism and hospitality. This unique event aims to promote all those areas of excellence that contribute to making Italian tourism an international benchmark, including sustainability and innovation, recognising the professionalism and skills of those working in hospitality and travel.
The task of selecting the 45 finalists in the 15 categories from over 300 candidates was entrusted to a jury of industry experts, chaired this year by Palmiro Noschese (Strategy Advisor for the luxury hotel industry). The prize is the Microfono d’Oro (Golden Microphone), the symbol of MHR, which rewards those who have left their mark on the Italian tourism industry. The categories in the competition are the following: Italian Destinations, Hotels, New Hospitality, Restaurants & Food, Spa & Wellness, Welcome Travel Italy, International, Transport & Mobility, Major Events, Innovation, Sustainable Tourism, Start-Ups, Media & Travel Stories, Manager of the Year, Woman in Tourism - Elena David Award. The three finalists in each category were announced on 2 December.
The awards ceremony, which has become an unmissable event for the entire sector, will take place on 10 December 2025 in the Ritz Room of the historic St. Regis Rome, a symbol of elegance and prestige, and will be broadcast on 16 December on Rai 2 in the late evening. The final evening, presented by Gabriella Carlucci, a familiar face on Italian television, directed by Luca Alcini and featuring music by the 7 Hills Gospel Choir, will be attended by internationally renowned stars such as Flavio Cobolli, Filippo Magnini and Simone De Pasquale. The audience in the hall will choose the winner of the “Star Night Award”, the “popular” prize awarded on the basis of the share in the hall.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Roma Capitale Department for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion, ENIT, Regione Lazio and a wide network of prestigious partners.
