
From 13 to 23 November, the Teatro Brancaccio hosts an exciting musical dedicated to the life and works of the iconic and unforgettable Mexican artist, in collaboration with the Frida Kahlo Museum “Casa Azul” and the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City, with the patronage of the Mexican Embassy in Italy.
In an extraordinary blend of music, colours, and emotions, Frida Opera Musical tells the story of the woman, the artist, and the legend, capturing the most authentic essence of the painter, a symbol of strength, creativity, and courage.
At the heart of the narrative is the life of Frida Kahlo, between her overwhelming and tempestuous love with Diego Rivera, the resilience of her body marked by pain, and her continuous search for freedom and identity, in a journey marked by La Catrina, the iconic and elegant figure of Mexican imagination, the emblem of death that celebrates life.
On stage is an exceptional cast of artists, including Federica Butera, Drusilla Foer and Andrea Ortis, also directing, who bring to life a powerful and visionary theatrical experience set against the backdrop of post-revolutionary Mexico, amidst mural art, passions, ideals, and the great protagonists of the time - Zapata, Trotsky, Breton, Tina Modotti, and others.
