It will be Julia ̶ the new virtual tourist guide of Roma Capitale basedonartificial intelligence and realised in collaboration with Microsoft/OpenAI ̶ to lead you through alternative routes, discovering hidden corners and curiosities of the city, with always original solutions and off the beaten tourist routes, or to distribute information, optimise tourist flows and improve the visiting experience.
Thanks to its versatility, Julia will collect and process a wide range of data provided directly by local operators and accredited external sources, making it available through digital channels such as WhatsApp and other messaging services. The ability to understand natural language and its multilingual nature will allow Julia to provide you with simple, precise and customised answers that are easy to use at all times.
You can also interact with Julia for updates on transport, routes, monuments, museums and events, and for suggestions on accommodation and typical restaurants in the city.
Created using the most advanced technologies to make tourist information more accessible, optimise visitor flows and enhance lesser-known destinations, without relying on the big global digital information players, Julia is the first tool in the world with such features, capable of upgrading the overall experience with a unique tourist, cultural and commercial offer.
The launch of Julia was made through a video by the CEO of Microsoft himself, Satya Nadella, during an event organised by the digital industry giant dedicated to the new frontiers of artificial intelligence.
