The XXII concert season of the Ear of Janus: Dialogues about Ancient and Modern Music, after the opening preview at the Centrale Montemartini on the occasion of RomaCapodarte2023, this year takes place partly in Villa Lante on the Gianicolo and partly in the gardens of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia.
These are concerts and conferences with musicians, composers and illustrious guests of the Ensemble Seicentonovecento, in residence at the Institutum Romanum Finlandiae and at Villa Lante on the Gianicolo; the group, founded and directed since 1983 by Flavio Colusso, has always been committed to revisiting the past and executing new works, and this year it turns 40.
The program includes: the New Gates Harp Trio Chagall with music by: Claude Debussy, Kaija Saariaho, Tōru Takemitsu; the Ensemble Seicentonovecento with music by: Adolpha Le Beau, Gilda Ruta, C. Schumann, Jan Sibelius, Max Reger, Mary Wurm and Antonio Coppola; the Æstus Ensemble with music by: Callen, Janitsch, Marais, Rebel, Senaillé, Tiensuu, Telemann.
