The Wizard of Oz

The famous tale of The Wizard of Oz, based on the 1900 book by L. Frank Baum, is presented in this musical at the Brancaccio Theater in a very original scenic key: the language of the musical and the contemporary circus merge in a new dimension. The cast, made up of 25 artists on stage, is made up of singers, dancers and some of the greatest acrobats of the contemporary world circus. The staging of the show also includes animation, 3D graphics, special effects and fantastic costumes created by the Romanov Arena creative team.

The plot tells about little Dorothy's adventures in the magical Land of Oz after she and her dog Totò were swept away by a tornado that hit Kansas where, orphan of her parents, the little girl lives with her uncles. With the glass little shoes received as a gift from the witch of the North, Dorothy walks towards the capital of the kingdom, the Emerald City, where lives the powerful Wizard of Oz who will be able to help her return home. Along the way, he meets three companions: a scarecrow who wishes he had a brain, a tin woodman who wishes he had a heart, and finally a lion who wishes he were brave. The four companions overcome obstacles along the way and arrive in the presence of the Wizard of Oz, who promises to help them fulfill every wish: not before, however, having killed the wicked witch of the West. After a thousand adventures that lead her to destroy the witch of the West, Dorothy finally manages to return home to her uncles thanks to her magical crystal little shoes.
