The young pianist Jan Lisiecki performs Frédéric Chopin's Etudes op.10 and the Nocturnes at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Published in 1833, 1837 and 1840, the Études include twenty-seven compositions overall, divided into two collections of twelve, numbered op.10 and op.25 and are considered to be among the most evocative pieces of all the works in the concert piano repertoire.

The Nocturnes, on the other hand, inspired by the piano works of the Irishman John Field, best known for inventing the piano genre of the "nocturnes" typical of the Romantic period, represent the climax of the piano production of the great Polish composer.

Acclaimed for his extraordinary interpretative maturity, at only twenty-seven years of age the Canadian Jan Lisiecki performs in over one hundred concerts a year all over the world and has collaborated with conductors such as Antonio Pappano, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Daniel Harding, Manfred Honeck and Claudio Abbado. He performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

In the 2021/2022 season Jan Lisiecki presented a new recital programme, including Chopin Nocturnes and Études, in more than thirty cities around the world.
