The circular economy is an economic model that aims to extend the life cycle of products, reducing consumption and waste through sharing, reusing, repairing, reconditioning and recycling materials. On the initiative of the Foundation for Sustainable Development, in collaboration with ENEA and under the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Circular Economy Network presents the seventh edition of the National Conference on Circular Economy. This is an important opportunity to take stock of European and national policies related to the Green Deal and the latest measures for the transition towards a sustainable economic model.
The 2025 edition of the event is held at the Biblioteca nazionale centrale - National Central Library, and focuses on the role of the circular economy in reviving the global Made in Italy brand, a topic of great relevance for Italian industry. The conference will analyze, for example, the contribution of biotechnology to the circular economy and sustainable consumption trends in Italy, giving space to testimonies from companies and organizations that will illustrate how the circular economy can strengthen global competitiveness and promote innovation in production chains.
The conference is also an opportunity to present, as part of the new Report on the Circular Economy produced in collaboration with ENEA, updated data on the performance of the main circularity indicators of the Italian economy, in comparison with the largest European economies. The report also includes the results of a survey conducted together with Legacoop and Ipsos on consumers’ circular choices and in-depth studies on critical raw materials.
